Om Johari Live @Neptune 5/7/18

This voice will change your life. This venue is a historical spot in the North Seattle area and the show itself was a reunion of surviving members of my all time favorite Seattle rock group Mother Love Bone. No matter what you were there for, you couldn’t take any focus off this stage once she approached the air with her voice. She covered a couple of MLB songs and her opener song of Bone China cover will send chills into you and your children’s children for generations to come. I felt so ashamed that her voice actually sounded slightly better than the original and I felt in my heart Andy Wood heard me think that. She is a blend of raspy calculated lethal vocal cords. Ones that probably need a permit for. That’s how powerful she is on the Mic. Om Johari, founder of the Hells Belles an all female AC/DC cover band is the one to look for. She spends more time promoting other artists as well as different roles outside of singing in the Seattle music scene but if you ever get a chance to have her blow out your ear drums into awesome pieces of pleasure…do it…don’t even thank me because I already know.

Metallica Live @CenturyLink Field 8/9/17

Cool story with this one as I never bought a ticket when I should have then the floor tickets went up last minute to $450-500 to be up close and person in the pits. I rode my motorcycle down there on a hot day just to check out the scene. This venue was at Century Link Field which is a massive venue with grand stand seating around the center area. I maneuvered my way into the front entrance area early before the show started. I didn’t have a ticket to get past any of the gate keepers so I scanned the area for the weakest link on their staff. I spotted a chubby young kid in the far corner who looked of somewhat authority. I talked my way into convincing him to give me a floor wristband to go my favorite rock/metal band of all time (which it’s not my favorite but it made it more dramatic to sell) He gives me a free wrist band and I ended up watching the coolest solo-attended show I have seen to date. The Guitar noises ripped through the arena sending head bangers ball heads into a frenzy! Mosh Pits everywhere and everyone running wild like it was the end of the world. Enter the Sandman came on and people sort of remained calm for a quick minute and just bobbed their head to the song we all know all…Then when you heard the drums slam hard everyone went wild again! Great show.

Guns N’ Roses Live @CenturyLink Field 8/12/16

Most of the concerts I can be seen shirtless like shown above here with both my Mom and Dad to the right. They had been divorced for a very long time but still remained friends so I thought it would be cool to surprise them both with floor tickets to G&R “not in this lifetime tour” which welcomed back Slash to perform together with them. Slash hadn’t performed with G&N since the mid 1990’s so this was truly a show to be at. The venue is massive with grandstands surrounding the stage and the floor lined with folding chairs. Also if you choose to head to the mosh pit which is in the very front you have to pay a bit more to be tossed around front row. I have seen them live many years ago at the Tacoma Dome with Mr. Bucket head substituting slash and the energy wasn’t quite as explosive as this. Axle still ran back and forth across the stage like he did back n the day and screamed the lyrics like you were right there in the 80’s 90’s listening to him belt out his signature voice in his prime. Slash was on point with several guitar solos that had your hairs standing up while we all head banged like the true rockers we are. They had Alice & Chains open and their new lead singer to replace the late & very great Layne Staley did an amazing job. All the classics from the chains including “The Rooster” letting us know the music of Staley you know ain’t gonna die. In summary, this legendary Classic Rock group still can rock a joint and my personal favorite “Welcome to the Jungle” sent chills across the arena which that song also is rumored to have some Seattle inspiration for the song from a time he visited here. One fist in the air with pointer and pinky erected out and bang your fuckin head!

Billy Idol Live @Moore Theater 3/5/19

One of the GREATS! Although sadly he didn’t play much of the classics except “Rebel Yell” and “Dancing with myself” he still had is Rock-Star charm and even saw him step back from the end of the stage and fall over the front speaker yet he kept singing on the ground so you almost thought it was on purpose. Even though he didn’t give some of the classics I am still amazed this guy can even still do music. Couple times he belted out lyrics real loud to give us that classic Idol yell…but I wouldn’t pay top dollar for a show again now that I can say I have seen him live already.
