I flew into Santa Ana, CA to see G perform because his previous Seattle show was cancelled and previously I saw G perform some yrs ago at Neumos in Seattle so I felt it was worth the trip. The venue was a decent size area located in the basement but covered the entire area below. Great sound quality in there, bar in back, bathroom and exits to one side, very simple. They had a Sublime cover band finishing up when I got there that really did a great set. G Perico performed well but I didn’t feel that same intensity of the first show I seen him in back in Seattle. It made me wonder if maybe its better to only see artists once. He didn’t really do anything wrong I just didn’t feel the same fire like the other show that consisted of his “so way out” era of music. Even some dudes at the Taco truck asked me where I was from and I said West Seattle, so I told him I saw another show and wanted to see the same delivery, -yet the stranger asked me if the Seattle show was better and I said it was. Maybe I am just bummed I saw two terrible shows recently (J Stalin El Corazon & Kyle Neptune) which has my radar for shit shows really sensitive right now. Or maybe I just needed G Perico’s music during the time when I needed to hear that music. I find myself skipping certain tracks now in my playlist so I guess that’s just how it goes but still well worth the money live.
I flew into Santa Ana to see a G Perico show and this cool cat performed before G and was very impressive. He had a very mellow smooth sound with 90’s esq beats but certain beat drops and changes to keep you fresh. I think he has a rap/R&B hybrid mixed genre and very worth the show if Snow is in your town.
Neptune Theater located in north Seattle, WA close to the university of WA campus. Great venue and historical features inside this location. I went to this show to see Kyle but was more impressed with Leven and his show. This was some R&B old school flavor but I can imagine with their whole band present you would get a Prince vibe from them. Leven came out in some leather tear away pants while he serenaded the Neptune with his music. This dude even took his shirt off for the ladies and I might have even saw a bra get thrown on stage. However the front dance floor had minors in the building so who knows on that one. Great show and this was the bands first tour so very special to have Seattle welcome new artists to the arena.
Neptune Theatre located in North Seattle, WA close to the university of WA and semi cumbersome parking but great venue. Historical and set up nicely. My one negative of this specific show was the sound quality. Too much bass and hard to hear the artists vocals but the deep bass was enjoyable at times. Solid lineup for this show and I even gained a new artist to see live who opened. Kyle was a great performer and made a point to thank Seattle for welcoming his music to us. Great show.
She is some rock, alternative, pop, blues and genres we can’t even describe with her simply amazing and artistic whistling that you have to hear in person. She is a one woman whistle orchestra with multi instrument talents and the ability to catch anyones cell phone from the audience while she performs during selfies for front row fans, soon after she tosses their phones back. Her entire band is a vibe. The guy on the keyboard never stopped moving the whole show and the guitarist jumped on a platform for a nice solo. Paramount theatre is a Historical location in the heart of Seattle that was owned by the late Paul Allen of Vulcan construction. Allen had the intention of preserving monumental venues like these before his passing some years ago but the venue still lives on. You can access parking easily by nearby garages and the venue itself is multi level for refreshments, adult beverages and snacks. Every seat is a great view with superior sound quality for every event I have been to -plus the visuals of the interior of the theatre are stunning to say the least. LP, I have seen a few times and she never disappoints. I even met a few people that flew into Seattle for her show which was very cool to see support to her music. LP’s is a true rock star with the entire sound and presence people can enjoy who already know of her skills or for people that are learning a new artist. She is for everyone and very interactive with her crowd as seen by her gnarly phone catches from the audience. Great show and can’t wait to see her again when she is touring.
Tell your story. Is anyone listening? We are all our own best friends or our worst enemies with everything in between. The image above is the logo for one of my favorite hiphop groups called “Hieroglyphics” crew. As we all should know, the term 3rd eye vision comes from the enlightened few that have the ability OR allow their minds to see things that aren’t common to the naked eye or the common consciousness of humans. Symbols and scripts are important gateways for storytelling. Often images represent an era in time or describe an action of an object. Tattoos can be artistic designs that express yourself or special words that you never won’t to forget. When you look at artifacts of ancient Egyptians or first people Native Americans you can find scripts and symbols engraved into our earth telling us a story that our “earth” was tattooed long before us. I got to thinking about that and how my Tattoos are apart of me because of their deep meaning. Each word or symbol means something to me that paints an entire picture or portion of my life and what era I was living in. Telling my story. Youtube can show visuals with theatrics that stimulate the modern mind but words, symbols and early primitive tools supposedly were all that was available back in the day. Yet we all know the game of telephone means that if I tell you my story and you tell someone else it revolves around the camp into either a completely different story or one with fallacies. So when you see ancient human markings of flying saucers and sky people it’s obvious as fuck it’s aliens not Jesus or some “god-like” bible thing. Not to say the Bible doesn’t help us decipher the past I just know it’s very skewed. So now we know Aliens or “other beings” exist and figure “oh well” its back to work tomorrow because the bills won’t pay themselves. What does it matter if Aliens exist or the fact that Earth is really just a giant laboratory where humans can be tampered with for the benefit of something higher than our human consciousness? It means everything and matters to everyone. Science has a very different story, religion has a very different story and most importantly the reason why you are sitting in your own consciousness has a very different story -which by consciousness is just sitting there knowing you exist and can move around and shit while noticing your surroundings stuff like that. While you are sitting there in that state knowing all of these things you will find that nothing in this life is coincidental. Coincidence doesn’t exist just like “conspiracy theory” was only designed to keep people from searching for the truth. We each all have some type of core path that we can deviate from slightly but somehow the path always stays the same and we will never know what life we had before this one because that’s not part of the program. Imagine if you could leave yourself clues or how you would tell others your story after you are gone and what ways would you convey a lifetime of events into one paragraph or a series of scribbles. Ancient Native Americans as well as many others thought of this. Once upon a time Ancient people tried to tell us that beings, not humans, came from the sky to show us something. I can imagine myself sitting there with a loin cloth and a spear telling everyone as they stare in astonishment -it’s bullshit I hunt & gathered last night while this fuckin spherical object just flies around in the air seeing all of the hidden food I had to find. You get it? That’s where we are now. Imagine this scene of seeing an alien ship in the air and everyone praises with their hands to the sky as chatter about the land asks; what is it, where did they come from and what does it all mean…you would see me there shirtless with war paint as I shout loudly for you all to wake the fuck up because if something “off world” comes from the sky it also means we have been lied to about everything. Period. End of Story. End of Simulation. If anything splits through this dimension with technology beyond our comprehension I would strongly urge everyone to realize the question isn’t at all about if life exists beyond our galaxy or if Aliens are hidden deep below earths shell. The question is why in the fuck are we slaving away to earn a buck so we can enjoy this prison “they” stuck us in while they just fly around unaffected and most importantly I demand they give us full brain power to help us comprehend the meaning of life. Think about that. You can only use about less than full percentage of your brain and we are born into that fact like a DOC #, google that shit. As an example; If someone sold me a house and told me it’s all mine but there is only one room in this house I can never go into during my ownership. I would think Bad deal right? The truth people keep saying but It’s right fucking there, in plain 3rd dimension sight but we are helpless to fight back until we look into ourselves and our own souls. There are clear signs of restriction on us. What do we do our whole life as humans is we evolve and advance? Sometimes. More than often we are restricted and lied to. They tell us bad dogs need muzzles and fast cars need air bags but why is that money rules them all. Why does our money say in God We Trust proudly across it when God allows us to be lied to our entire life through government spokesman Because that was part of the program terms. We learn and find more efficient ways to complete tasks just like having opposable thumbs because that idea was a hit while other unfortunate animals were not chosen to be fucked with like us. We were chosen to experiment with by mixing DNA and hybridization. That’s it, there is the truth. No weird confetti dropping from the skies or sound effects but just like how there were no banners and streamers when college divers found a shit loud of ammunition aboard the Lusitania that was shot down by German War Tools. I bring that up because the USA used yellow press back then to bolster a perspective towards war based off the Germans shooting down a-so-called “innocent” passenger ship. The people outraged with their pocket books and World War happened. Don’t even get me started with 9/11 and Afganistan because wake the fuck up. Back to those cool animals. Why are those animals even around if they can’t speak to us? Because this laboratory was created to experiment with all the species so you can probably only imagine Animal abduction stories but too bad they can’t talk. These theories are all the same reason sometimes it’s a sunny day and other days it rains shit everywhere depending on where you are and what conditions they want your region to endure or enjoy. Seems like a good way to divide up an ant farm for reasons those stupid little ants don’t know. This is because we are told that our planet has different climate regions but if I tell my Ants in the back yard there is a hose river coming they are just gonna deal with it. This isn’t an accident and if you think the government can’t manipulate weather patterns then you really need to go back to sleep. This entire earth civilization is designed to harvest all our precious souls for energy that we can’t yet comprehend I.e. power. Love, Hate, Neutral, happy, pain, morals, experience it’s all just a harvest. Do you think cows understand they are only kept on the farm for their milk ? Fuck no. Try telling one and they won’t ever understand you and they will show up the next day for milking any time you ask. They will do this until they are dead and gone and since we speculate EVERY human soul is recycled and we aren’t 100% how that hypothesis could even be managed or if we reincarnate into other living creatures or not so we might as well play it safe right. Meaning be nice to everything living and especially this means be kind to animals because they are our equals. All of them are special -especially common animals like Dogs and cats on to even wild animals. You ever think an Ant knows why it has to follow this line of Ants back to the queen while backpacking your bread crumbs like 42 feet uphill in each direction. I’m the Ant who takes a hard left turn towards the edge of that blurry shit you can only see with your 3D eyes. I’m the Ant who has the exact same 3D eyes you have but I have faith in my soul that I can fuckin see something way out there in the distance we can’t see because there is something much more than this. We should pay attention and start asking more questions because closed minds don’t get fed.
Ohana is located in the heart of Belltown Seattle, WA right on 1st Ave with semi easy parking depending on when you go there. Weekends can be busy but Ohana brings a Hawaiian vibe throughout it’s venue as it’s a restaurant by day and night. The amazing bartenders always remember what you drink, security keeps things in line and the Hawaiian food is pretty good. I was in there after the new year just casually hangin with some friends and heard some really spot on Sublime covers. I glanced over and saw this artist all setup in the center stage area of Ohana as people danced and enjoyed Ian’s music. I didn’t get a chance to hear all of his music but to nail a Sublime track like he had done it a thousand times before was music to my ears, literally. Check out Ian if you ever see his name pop up because even though I didn’t plan on live music I would venture to one of his next shows for sure.
This was a very memorable show. I remember buying this ticket in advance for somewhere around $25 in the nose bleeds of Paramount Theater which is a historical event venue with great views in every corner blended with classic architecture in a historical Seattle building. I had an extra ticket so I invited one of my motorcycle buddies to accompany me to the show since I knew he also liked to hit lots of concerts too. Before the show I met some other 90’s Seattle rock associates that I knew from the somewhat “Seattle Musician” scene including one with a last name I recognized. That person told me to come back stage later to meet STP and band but I was just with my buddy who was a dude and figured that wasn’t a cool thing to bring to a 90’s iconic band so I never followed up. Although I missed that opportunity I sure didn’t miss a great show. It was like the music was being injected into your ear drums. The vocals live only amplified the original power of all those classic tracks like “PLUSH” and “Interstate Love Song” as they just blasted the sound barriers of the Paramount Theater with authority. I felt like the show was for the history books while watching it and I remember telling my Dad about it months later. My Dad says, “Damn, good thing you went to that show Scott Weiland passed away recently” -which I was in shock at the time just because it seemed so recent that I attended the show.” Which made it the last live show I would ever see of his. Although there are many artists I have missed seeing live before their untimely death, there are also many that I have been lucky to see as well with this being one of them. I was digging for a picture of this show for years and finally all I have to found was a blurry snap chat picture of me trying to get the STP Banner on the back of the stage that I thought was cool. Still, I wanted to post this to remember I was there. I read on Wikipedia that after Scott Weilands death Chris Cornell performed a cover of “Say Hello to heaven” in Weilands honor. However was that the best choice when “Say Hello to Heaven” was originally a song dedicated to Cornell’s roommate Andrew Wood who was the lead singer of the Mother Love Bone and died of a Heroin overdose before the band ever got to see how great they really were? I feel as though that sort of tribute just deepens the legacy of rock legends dying of drug related tragedies. Just my opinion but then again maybe the songs deep meaning needed to be carried on by Cornell as a message of caution to other artists who are struggling to make it big. Just keep having fun and doing it for the love of the art probably should be the main focus but I still enjoy seeing artists become millionaires over night, it’s beautiful.
I had to re-visit this classic to really remind myself of the classic tale of two lovers that won’t let anything get between them. That hint of Romeo & Juliette and that action and suspense of Bonnie & Clyde. The brief cameos of famous actors will surprise you in every scene. You build suspense into a powerhouse actor that has the familiarity of watching all your favorite classics rolled into one film. The love story is intense and enriching almost challenging of our own love for someone wondering what limits do we have for those we cherish most. The action is well distributed across the film yet giving you the sprinkles of deep unbreakable love between two people as they embark on a journey you can view through a 1993 time traveling lens with all of the retro backdrops to enjoy. I think one of the most notable characters to pay attention to is the late Chris Penn who contributes one of the most classic iconic police interrogations ever. This movie has the dark humor attached layered in a very dry yet stealthy way. This classic comes as zero surprise being a Quentin Tarantino film and also ranked as one of the best films of all time depending on which review page you view. With all Tarantino movies you can guarantee visuals will always be backed up by perfect music choices. Lastly, it’s noted that some of the characters in this movie either used this movie as a stepping stone into later roles from the films positive response or were even inspired artistically for other projects because of the significance each character plays in the scenes giving each of them their own lead role within main the plot. Also a very Tarantino style.
El Corazon is a great venue located close to Interstate 5 and downtown Seattle. It has two sides to the venue with an upper deck area to view the show from a distance behind the dance floor. It can get really hot in there during the summer but winter climate is just right. Fishbone was the headliner and I was already so elated with Re-Ignition that I missed the first part of this group. Never heard of them before but soon as all the musical instruments got to working it grabbed all my attention. They had sort of a funkadelic George Clinton vibe with strong rock influence to them. The lead singer came out in an extravagant outfit while everyone else supported the energy including his keyboard guy on the Piano keys that was dancing and spinning the keyboard around on a turn table thing it sat on. Felt like good party music and when the saxophone ripped you felt like a very unique music was at play. This group has been around a long time and this was my first time hearing them so if you see a fishbone concert somewhere, make sure to go to it.
