Eric B & Rakim Live @Showbox Market 4/16/19

Let the Rhythm hit em and don’t ever sweat the technique! Rakim is in my opinion, by far the greatest Hip Hop MC to ever grace the stage. His lyrics are so precise you would think he had a PHD in wreck’n microphones. I saw them at this same venue some years prior and I can honestly say the show itself was a little better last time but always worth the money to See Eric B & Rakim. This venue is perfect and the picture above is from their VIP tables which can be reserved in advance. The advantage of sitting here is for some popular shows like this you don’t need to find good standing areas because you are reserved with the best view and have a waiter to bring you food and drinks. Back to the GOAT of this shit. His show was again great but my two critiques since I was at his last one is that he should have came out in his large fur coat (I know I had mine on) to give us that East Coast entrance topped by more break dancers or maybe the graffiti artists he had last time. Also I cant remember what song he opened with but I think it was something tame like “Check out my melody” which ain’t a bad song but you need that POWER entrance… POWER! something like “I Ain’t no joke” or “Don’t sweat the technique” OR “Make Em Clap To This” would have been golden to open with. Need the classics people know and love however doesn’t change the fact that I was happy with show. Also because having artists travel all the way to Seattle, WA for a show is special to me. Great show! Because to Rakim, M-C means move the crowd!
